1970 - From Home to Home

I Kaleidoscope cambiano nome in Fairfield Parlour e nell'agosto del 1970 Pubblicano su Vertigo From Home to Home.
Nonostante il fatto che ora vengano definiti una progressive rock band, la loro musica non è cambiata molto e ancora include testi fiabeschi e armonia psichedelica. Il primo singolo della band come Fairfield Parlour, "Bordeaux Rosé", è stato rilasciato il 17 aprile 1970 l'etichetta Vertigo. Ha ottenuto una notevole quantità di passaggi radiofonici, ma non è riuscito a raggiungere il successo. 
Dopo aver rilasciato diversi singoli, l'album From Home to Home è stato pubblicato il 14 agosto 1970 con la produzione di Symond.

1969 - Mighty Baby

Post psychedelia che strizza un occhio al progressive.
La band Mighty Baby è stata costituita nel 1968, con alcuni membri dell'appena sciolto gruppo Mod The Action. 
Ha colpito subito in studio e aveva un album pronto entro la fine del '68 che, alla fine, è stato pubblicato verso la fine del 1969 sull'etichetta Head Records.

Durante il 1970 molti dei membri della band si convertirono all'Islam, e quando il loro secondo album A Jug of Love è apparso nel 1971, l'alterazione in vista religioso e filosofico da parte dei membri della band ha influenzato anche la loro espressione stilistica, con un conseguente secondo album molto diverso.

Questa seconda produzione anche dimostrato di essere gli album finali a venire da questa band. Negli anni successivi le registrazioni d'archivio concert sono emersi di volta in volta, l'acquisizione di un appassionato gruppo di improvvisazione durante l'esecuzione dal vivo.

A mio modo di vedere il punto più basso dei primi King Crimson.
Il lirismo di Sinfield è fin troppo accentuato.

".....The bass is a real highlight on this album for me. It moves with a destructive power, and a texture as though something extremely heavy is being dragged. It feels and sounds like snow when crushed under boots. In fact, I find this album bestows frequently imagery. Sandy dunes and polar scenes alike. It smoothly and fluently evolves from dark choruses to jovial themes. At some moments, even, melancholic piano announces a beautiful melody. Other times, guitar and a beautiful female voice together chant a haunting string of notes. Even a few dispersed sax and flute solos appear. But throughout the album, these moments are kept scarce. The majority of the album is comprised of intense rhythms supporting a powerful and destructive guitar line, as spacey keyboards tie it all together. The songs are all somewhat similar, but not to the point the album is redundant. It rather makes the album coherent and gives it its distinct flow.
I can't stress enough how really fantastic this experience is. The singing is just impeccable, and the melodies are haunting and very pronounced........"
